SOUTH SEA PEARLS AND THE ENVIRONMENT
Australian pearls have international recognition. They are grown ethically and with environmental integrity
In 2017, the Australian pearling industry was independently certified as the world’s most ethical and environmentally sustainable choice by the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC).
This certification or eco-label, helps you to make a choice knowing that the pearl fishery has been assessed according to global best practice sustainability standards that are second to none.
This is the first time a wild fishery has been certified as sustainable despite it being in commercial production for over 150 years, and the only wild fishery of its type in the world.
Sirene South Sea pearls can be bought with confidence knowing they were cultured in harmony with the natural marine environment, without damage to the seabed or wasteful by-catch.
